Corruption
Ang para kay Juan ay kay Juan at ang para kay Pedro ay kay Pedro. — though this Filipino saying has been used numerous times as a joke, these may mean deeper than what it appeals to be.
Last tuesday, we watched a documentary regarding corrution. I can hear many mummbling sounds, people were voicing out their opinions over the video. Some were hideously laughing, some were serious. I was, as usual, smiling. At the back of my mind were the thought of “have I ever been a corrupt individual?”
By all means, corruption never stops to politicians. Corruption is getting beyong what is alloted for you. Like by simply cheating or conniving with your seatmate to get a higher score at a quiz. Corruption seeks its own way to be rooted in every person even in little circumstances only.
As to what we had seen in the video, we are all suffering from the selfishness brought about by corruption in our country. It inhibits us from living a life we are supposed to be living. A life of comfort. Though not luxurious, but a life of security that we get to wake up each morning knowing we still have the necessities we need to survive. And by any means, I shall say that there is only obe way to stop corruption. It is by being contented to whatever you are given and whatever you have in hand.

The docuentary obviously showed evidences of massive poverty. These triggering realities made me realize tht in life, whether we think about ourselves as very unfortumate, we still should consider that there are people who experiences much worse scenarios in their daily routined lives.
Usually I wake up in the morning thinking about what was I supposed to do to ease my problems. What should I do to make things easier for me. What is better for me. And watching the documemtary made realize how many selfish times I used the word I. That I forgot to remember that there are other people who needs more help than I do.
These realities hence are the obvious solution to our problems regarding solidarity. That we shall stop being selfish and start being concern to our neighbors, our brothers and sisters. It also shows thay we shall stop prioritizing and look onto people as equals and avoid making subsidiaries. That in this world, we shall start thinking and doing things for thegood of everyone and not just for ourselves.
As for my realization, the documentary simply showed what is actually happening there in the real world. What I usually seeon the streets, those annoying children, have deep wounds in their own personalities for these hindrance of being poor. It deepen my understanding of solidarity and of common good by believing that the only thing we could all do to help and save our poor brothers and sisters is by helping hand in hand for the sake of everyone.
